Panel Discussion at Barts event at Royal London Hospital

Celebrating LGBTIQ+ History Month with Barts

This LGBTIQ+ History Month, we were invited by Barts Health NHS Trust to join them on their celebrations at Royal London Hospital and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. Together with other incredible organisations and changemakers, we ran stalls and delivered information to raise awareness and promote inclusivity in healthcare.

During the visits, we engaged with hospital staff and patients, sharing information about the importance of LGBTIQ+ inclusive cancer care. Our team provided resources, raised awareness about community barriers and health disparities, and highlighted the peer support services available through OUTpatients for the LGBTIQ+ community. It was exciting to reconnect with familiar faces like Care4Pride, and see them continue their brilliant work.

The day was filled with meaningful conversations, a strong sense of solidarity, and a shared commitment by members and allies coming together to make healthcare spaces safer and representative of the LGBTIQ+ community. Thank you to the organisers at Barts for hosting such a vibrant event and together, we can continue making strides toward equitable and person-centred cancer care for all.
