Are you a creative individual with a passion for design and storytelling? As a volunteer Graphic Designer, you will help us create visually engaging materials that amplify our mission. Your designs will inspire, inform, and connect our community while promoting our resources and initiatives.
What you will be doing
As a Graphic Designer volunteer, your tasks may include:
Designing eye-catching social media graphics to promote our services, events, and campaigns.
Creating print materials such as flyers, brochures, and posters to support our outreach efforts.
Developing branding elements and templates for consistent visual communication across platforms.
Collaborating with our team to bring creative ideas to life through design.
Assisting in updating and maintaining the visual style of existing materials to reflect current needs and initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills:
Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or Canva.
- Strong understanding of design principles including typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Creativity and a keen eye for detail.
Ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage time.
Bonus Skills
Experience designing for diverse audiences and inclusivity.
Familiarity with creating assets for social media platforms and web-based content.
Animation or video editing experience.
LGBTIQ+/Cancer Lived Experience
It is not essential to be LGBTIQ+ or have lived experience of cancer to take on this role, but allyship and a strong understanding of the importance of inclusive representation are crucial.
Frequency
Flexible, with project-based opportunities that may range from weekly to monthly commitments, depending on the organisation’s needs.
Training Offered
Volunteer Onboarding (if not previously completed).
Introduction to OUTpatients’ branding and design guidelines.
