Help shape cancer research for the gender diverse community

What’s the title of the study?

TransCRIPT: Perspectives on Cancer Risk, Investigation and Personalised Treatment for Transgender and Gender Diverse People

What’s the study about?

We are hosting two online focus groups for transgender and gender diverse people who have experienced cancer. We want to hear about the care you received, and what you think are the unmet needs or unanswered questions about treatment. We will discuss potential avenues of research to tackle these questions, and your ideas will be used to shape a funding proposal.

Who’s organising it?

Who can take part?

We are looking to speak to people who:

  • Identify as transgender, non-binary, or gender diverse
  • Have cancer now or have had it in the past

What will I need to do?

Contact [email protected] if you would like to take part.

We will ask you to attend two online focus groups. Each focus group will last approximately 2 hours. You will be compensated for your time.

We will schedule the focus groups at a convenient time for participants, likely in the evening. The first will take place in late June and the second in mid-late July.

If you are keen to take part but struggle to connect online, we will try to provide an in-person or telephone option to take part.

You do not need to prepare for the first focus group. We will send some brief documents ahead of the second group for you to read through but they will also be presented in the session.

You will also have the opportunity to remain part of the advisory team as the research develops.

When is the deadline?

Please express interest before 12th June 2024, though we may still be able to accept participants after this date.
