CRUK’s Health Inequalities Strategy Launch

Last month, we attended the Cancer Research UK’s Health Inequalities Strategy Launch at Mary Ward House in London. Bringing together healthcare professionals, researchers, changemakers, and community organisations, the event highlighted CRUK’s commitment to tackle the deep-rooted health inequalities that impact those most vulnerable to cancer.

Words from panelists Iyna Fiaz, Prof. Bola Owolabi, and Naser Turabi, emphasised the need for intersectionality and representation in cancer care to understand the differing needs of marginalised communities.

This strategy and their latest report mark some progress in addressing the unequal burden of cancer, however, we have a long way to go. We heard loud and clear the importance of partnerships and working together, so we look forward to seeing how they will implement these collaborative ways of working between CRUK and community organisations like ourselves to make this vision a reality.
