Body Talk
What is Body Talk?
Sexual wellbeing is an important part of our quality of life.
However, we know that people can find talking about sex and intimacy difficult.
Body Talk is a booklet full of information and activities that can help. It covers a range of important topics from communication to anatomy in order to build comfort and confidence.
Who is it for?
Cancer and its treatments can affect our sexual wellbeing in many ways. Body Talk is for any person experiencing these challenges.
Body Talk is a companion resource to the Sex and Cancer Info Hub. The hub focuses on information and Body Talk focuses on how to talk about sex and intimacy and the changes you might be going through.
We know that different cancers and treatments can affect us differently. Body Talk helps you to explore what this means for you, and how to talk about this with your partner(s) and your clinical team(s).
Can it work for me?
Body Talk was developed through workshops with LGBTIQ+ cancer patients and their professionals to represent the most common issues.
We know that everyone has an individual experience of their sexual wellbeing, so if there is any information you are looking for that is not in the Sex and Cancer Info Hub or Body Talk, get in touch.
How do I use it?
Body Talk is free to use for all cancer patients.
Some patients like to read it online and others find it helpful to print it off. Body Talk has lots of interactive pages, so we encourage people to try them out.
People have told us that they completed it alone, and others have told us that they have done it with their partner(s). We recommend you do what feels right for you.
