Offering support

We provide a safe space for anyone who identifies as part of the queer spectrum and has had an experience with any kind of cancer – at any stage – from testing, diagnosis, treatment, remission and through to long-term care.

Supporting
our community

Being an LGBTIQ+ person with cancer can feel isolating, which is why we support our community with peer services, advocacy, information, and visibility. We listen to those in our community who are going through cancer experiences every day, and we understand what matters to them most. These real-life insights help us shape the direction of our work, adding value for others in our community.

Helping people

The mission of our charity is to help and support people within the LGBTIQ+ community who are living with or have been affected by cancer. By working with the community, we provide education to professionals working in the cancer care sector using a holistic approach that improves the quality of care for their staff and for our community.

We do this by:

  • Enhancing our peer support services
  • Informing our education programmes to improve the level of care we receive from healthcare professionals
  • Attending campaign focus groups to determine how these projects develop
  • Featuring in our media, press and campaigns to highlight their stories

Raising awareness

We regularly present at national conferences, stakeholder meetings, healthcare forums and panel discussions to raise awareness of the issues affecting our community and to share our expertise.

We have spoken at the UK Imaging and Oncology Conference, Oncology Professional Care Conference, WONCA and RCGP Conference, HSJ Cancer Forum, and British Oncology Pharmacy Association to name a few. We also promote our mission through the national press and use these opportunities to raise our community’s voices so that they can finally be seen and heard.

Some news outlets we have been published in include Cancer Research UK, i News, The Face, Gay Times, Smiley News, and Attitude Magazine.

Our team is proud to have received multiple awards from the health, charity and LGBTIQ+ sectors. With each award, we are comforted to know that we’re increasing the awareness of our mission and our community. Some awards that we are humbled to receive include:
